The Tasmanian police patrol vessel Van Diemen has been awarded Best Patrol Boat 2024 in the Baird Maritime Work Boat World Awards, recognising its performance, design, and versatility in maritime law enforcement.

VEEM supplied both the vessel’s precision-matched propellers and gyrostabilizer system, delivering enhanced stability and directional control for offshore policing and search and rescue operations. Designed by Global Marine Design and built by Fine Entry Marine, the 24-metre monohull features a full suite of advanced technology to replace the retiring Van Diemen II in Tasmania Police’s fleet.

VEEM’s contribution to this award-winning platform reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting Australian-built patrol vessels with locally manufactured propulsion and stabilization solutions. All VEEM components were designed and machined at our Perth facility to meet the operational profile of high-speed, variable-sea-state enforcement missions.
