Last week VEEM welcomed the Defence West team to its Canning Vale headquarters for a tour of the company’s manufacturing and gyrostabiliser assembly facilities.
The visit offered a first-hand look at the breadth of capability operating under one roof from Australia’s largest non-ferrous foundry and the CNC machining floor through to dynamic balancing and gyrostabiliser assembly. Across a single 14,700m² site, VEEM designs, casts, machines, balances and assembles components for marine, defence and industrial customers in Australia and around the world.
The tour also provided an opportunity to discuss VEEM’s role across sovereign and allied defence programs – including long-running submarine and surface-ship work with ASC and Austal, and more recent qualifications that position the company within the US and UK naval supply chains. Engagement with Defence West reflects the shared goal of strengthening Western Australia’s advanced manufacturing base and growing sovereign industrial capability.
