VEEM is proud to continue supporting Austal and the Royal Australian Navy on the Evolved Cape-class Patrol Boat (ECCPB) program, supplying fully integrated marine propulsion systems. Each ECCPB is fitted with VEEM-manufactured propellers and shaft lines, precision-engineered at our advanced Canning Vale facility in Western Australia.
The ninth vessel in the series, the future HMAS Cape Spencer, was launched in April 2025 at Austal’s Henderson shipyard — delivered precisely to schedule. This milestone marks another successful handover under the SEA1445-1 contract, which has seen eight ECCPBs already commissioned into service since 2020. Three additional vessels remain under construction, including one for the Royal Australian Navy and two for the Australian Border Force.
VEEM’s involvement in the ECCPB series reflects our longstanding commitment to Australia’s sovereign naval shipbuilding capability. All shaft line and propulsion components are manufactured in-house using certified materials, advanced CNC machining, and rigorous quality control processes tailored to naval specifications.
