VEEM was honoured to welcome representatives from HII – Huntington Ingalls Industries, America’s largest military shipbuilder, to our Canning Vale facility last month. The visit formed part of a broader initiative to identify and evaluate Australian companies with the capability to support HII’s defence operations under the AUKUS alliance.
As a manufacturer of high-precision cast and machined components with decades of experience supporting the Royal Australian Navy, VEEM demonstrated its sovereign capabilities across complex metallurgy, large-scale casting, CNC machining, and defence-grade quality assurance. The visit included technical briefings, facility tours, and discussions on VEEM’s readiness to meet US Department of Defense compliance and production standards.
This engagement marks another step in VEEM’s long-term objective to enter the US defence supply chain, contributing to the Virginia and future SSN-AUKUS submarine programs. We appreciate the opportunity to work with HII and other partners aligned with AUKUS to strengthen trilateral defence capability and industrial interoperability.
