VEEM Ltd will exhibit at the Indian Ocean Defence & Security (IODS) Conference and Exhibition 2026, held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from 26–28 May.
IODS is Western Australia’s flagship defence event, bringing together senior leaders from government, defence, industry and academia to address the strategic and industrial priorities shaping the Indo-Pacific. The 2026 program will focus on AUKUS integration, sovereign industrial capability, regional security, guided weapons, critical minerals and the workforce of the future.
The event will host over 190 companies from nine countries across three exhibition halls (its largest format to date) alongside a two-day conference curated by the Perth USAsia Centre. Keynote speakers include the First Sea Lord, the incoming Australian Chief of the Defence Force, the Commander of the United States Pacific Fleet, and the Vice Chief of Staff of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force.
Why IODS matters
IODS is held in Perth for good reason. Western Australia is now central to delivering Australia’s 2024 National Defence Strategy, from the upgrades at HMAS Stirling to support nuclear-powered submarines under AUKUS, to the evolution of the Henderson Precinct as a hub for naval shipbuilding and sustainment. The conference is where the strategic conversation meets the industry that will deliver it.
VEEM’s place in the conversation
VEEM has been supporting Australia’s defence sector since 1987, delivering more than $250 million of defence work across some of the nation’s most significant maritime programs including the Oberon and Collins Class Submarines, ANZAC Frigates, Pacific Patrol Boats and Evolved Cape-class Patrol Boats. We partner with leading defence contractors including ASC, Austal, Thales, BAE Systems, Kongsberg, Babcock and Supacat.
Our propellers, gyrostabilisers and precision-engineered components are designed, cast, machined and tested at our Canning Vale facility – 25 minutes from the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. That proximity is part of what makes WA’s defence industrial base distinctive: the manufacturing happens here, in the same city where the strategy is being shaped.
Visit us at IODS 2026
The VEEM team will be on the exhibition floor across all three days of IODS 2026. We’d welcome the opportunity to meet with defence primes, allied delegations, government representatives and industry partners interested in our capabilities across marine propulsion, gyrostabilisation, and precision engineering for defence applications.
